Time seems at a standstill. We are afraid of the unknown and we have forgotten things that we shouldn't have forgotten
Now, more than ever, seems the perfect time to contemplate the importance of the natural world. As things develop I begin to imagine how the world would be if we put as much importance into promoting the natural world as we do with commercial products.
This new body of work is created using imagery and techniques from advertising campaigns to present nature as if it were a piece of jewellery, a perfume or a luxury item.
This new work is created using inks, teas and alcohols and then embellished with 24 carat gold leaf and Swarovski crystals to reinforce the idea of opulence.
These paintings serve as a reminder to listen more and look further at the beauty within nature.
This exhibition will not happen in the usual sense but I have tried to create an experience whereby the work can be brought to an audience in different ways, through Virtual Reality, through miniature samples of the work in print form... just a way to reach out and connect....
