An original painting in ink and tea picturing a common sparrow caught in flight.  The sparrow is abstracted and broken up into a continuous line drawing with pops of pure pigment colour. Unlike much of Carne's work the detailed background through which the viewer looks out, stretches to the torn edges of the paper. The piece is created by pouring tea over lines drawn with ink from a fountain pen and allowing the colours to run and find their own place on the page.  This free technique imparts a sense of chaos into the painting which in turn is interpreted by the artist into natural forms. 
 
The piece is painted on bockingford watercolour paper 24 x 34cm with hand torn edges and will be accompanied by a signed certificate of authenticity, blind embossed with gold detailing.
